Critical December 2025 Tax Deadlines for Businesses

As December approaches, businesses must prepare for essential tax obligations, including corporate estimated tax payments and monthly payroll tax deposits. It's also a crucial time to complete year-end tasks before the December 31 deadline.

December 15 - Corporations

Corporations need to settle the fourth installment of their 2025 estimated tax payments by this date to avoid penalties.

December 15 - Payroll Tax Deposits

Employers subject to the monthly deposit rules must remit Social Security, Medicare, and withheld income taxes for November 2025 by this deadline. This also applies to nonpayroll withholding deposits if the monthly rule governs.

December 31 - Final Year-End Actions

Act now if your year-end plans might take longer than a day, as some financial institutions may be unavailable on December 31. Advance preparation is key to ensuring compliance and avoiding last-minute hurdles.

If a deadline coincides with a weekend or a legal holiday, it automatically extends to the next business day.
